Deacon William G. Gentry, Jr. currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden located in Landover, Maryland. Dea. Gentry also serves as the Chief Financial Officer of SHABACH! Ministries, Inc, a non-profit entity organized by First Baptist.
Having accepted Jesus Christ at an early age, it is no surprise that Dea. Gentry works full time in ministry. He additionally serves as the Chief Financial Officer of “Go Ye...” Ministries Worldwide, Inc. This is an outreach/missionary support/Christian education organization founded by his wife, Rev. Belynda B. Gentry.
Dea. Gentry is a much sought after consultant for churches and church leaders; and has ministered in the Washington metropolitan area, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Delaware as well as other areas. He guides ministries in such areas as IRS compliance and the development of Financial procedures. He trains congregations in various subjects including the areas of personal financial management and church leadership.
Prior to moving full time into the ministry arena, Dea. Gentry spent over twenty years in the Mortgage Banking industry serving in various positions including Branch Manager, Operations Supervisor for multiple offices and Training and Development Manager. Directly prior to moving to his current position at First Baptist, he hosted a live weekly radio broadcast on WYCB aimed at educating the general public in the areas of personal financial management, home ownership, and Biblical stewardship.
Dea. William Gentry is the loving and devoted husband of Rev. Belynda Gentry and they have four adult children and ten grandchildren.
