Members of Go Ye answered their call to be witnesses (Acts 1:8- 9) by going out into Southeast DC with First Baptist Church of Glenarden. The ministry partnered with Anacostia Baptist in DC. Within a span of four days, different teams went out to spread the gospel. Those who were members of the Evangelism team walked the neighborhood seeking to lead some to Christ and pray for others.
Team members also took on the call of servants. Some members assisted in registering children for Vacation Bible School and the children had a great time while learning about Jesus! Others registered and assisted the community in the clothes closet where free clothes were given to needy members of the community. They were so grateful and many expressed that now they would have something to wear to church on Resurrection Sunday!
Other team members helped to restore the neighborhood by landscaping yards, discarding debris, and repairing walls and ceilings in homes. The owners were so grateful and loved the restorations. They were amazed at how strangers could extend a hand and go the extra mile for people they did not know. God connected people on the team as well as in the community and moved in so many wonderful ways!
